Introductie

Rubbish Bag - Suitcase - Treasure Chest The aim of this activity is to categorise acquired knowledge, skills, and experiences in an active, reflective manner. Give your students 3 to 5 minutes to think of at least one point for each category. If the group can handle it, go through the categories and discuss the answers. Emphasise that the 'rubbish bag' is not negative, but helps you to clear away ineffective habits or knowledge. Leaving them behind and moving on creates room for growth. Personal successes that are not directly related to grades or performance can also be stored in the treasure chest. Ensure the activity is short and impactful.

How to add the 'Word Cloud with Categories' question type

Open a lesson in the new lesson editor

Click on + Add Slide and choose Word Cloud with Categories.

Adjust the default categories and the question to suit your lesson.

Add more categories if desired; there is no maximum.

Layout:

Automatic: LessonUp automatically arranges the categories.

Customised: You determine the size and position of the categories.

How does it work for students?

Students see the categories on their device.

They select a category and type their answer.

Multiple answers per category are possible.

Answers appear in real-time under the correct category on the teacher's screen / the smartboard.

Teacher Options

Answers can be moved, even during the lesson.

By clicking on an answer, you can see which student submitted it. Suitable for live discussions, reflections, and organising ideas.

With the 'Word Cloud with Categories' question type, you create structure while simultaneously encouraging open and creative thinking in the classroom.
