In the present tense, the verb 'to do' is used in the following patterns: 

1. in negative sentences:

Many people do not like Donald Trump.

Miss van Kampen does not teach English.

2. in questions:

Do I look nice today?

What does he mean?

3. in short answers:

Yes, I do.

No, I don't.

How do we make a question with the verb 'to do' ?

Just like with 'to be', we switch 'to do' with the subject to make a question.

Do you like chocolate?

Does she play any sports?

When you want to make a question with words like:
what, why, where, who, which or when

Then the verb 'to do' becomes the second word in the sentence instead of the first.

Why do you like him?

Negations or "negative"

Negations or negative means that something is 'not'.  

'to do' is a helping verb. It helps the main verb by giving meaning to a sentence. 

If we want to make a sentence negative

Write five sentences using the verb to do

Can you use the shortened form (negative) as well? 

Show them to your partner.

Choose one sentence that you just wrote with "do" and type it!
