What are question tags?

- Aangeplakte vragen

Controle vragen -> denkt iemand er net zo over als jij?

They are happy at school, aren't they?

How to use a question tag?

They are happy at school, aren't they?

Ze zijn blij op school, toch?

-> je maakt van je uitspraak/statement een vraag door er iets achter te plakken. 

How does it work?

Als de zin positief/bevestigend is dan is de question tag negatief/ontkennend

Als de zin negatief/ontkennend is dan is de question tag positief/bevestigend

You weren't too sick, were you?

Weren't = negatief/ontkennend

Were = positief/bevestigend

Different question tags

Als er een vorm van to be, to have got of een hulpwerkwoord (bijv. can, could, should) in de zin staat, herhaal je deze in de question tag. Bij have got herhaal je het woordje got niet. Bij alle andere werkwoorden gebruik je do/does/did.

Add the question tag:

You haven't got my phone,

2. have got you?
3. have you?

You haven't got my phone, 

have you?

Haven't got = have
