We're going to have a brief discussion about our vacations.

Think of a word written in the superlative about your vacation:
Funniest, prettiest, most dangerous etc.

Ask a question to another person using your word:

The funniest thing you have done this vacation is?

The next person answers the question and asks THEIR question to the next person!

Expressions
Expressions are set pieces of text with a meaning:

"Break a leg" can be taken quite literally, but actaully means........

"I am over the moon" doesn't have anything to do with space travel.

IF CONDITIONALS
Sentences can consist of multiple parts. 

If I work during the day, I can relax at night.
If I finish my homework, I will go to the party.
I will go to the party if I finish my homework.

In red we can find the IF-clause, the other part is called the MAIN-clause.
IF is the condition, the result is the MAIN clause.

Purpose per conditional
0 - general truths and facts 
If water reaches 100 degrees, it boils.
1 - high probability of taking place
If I go home on time, I will get ice cream.
2- low probabilty of taking place
If I won the lottery, I would buy a house.
3 - will not occur (hypothetical)
If I had the money, I would have donated it to charity.

                      If clause - main clause
0 -  Present simple - present simple
1 - Present simple - will + verb
2- Past simple - would + verb
3 - Past perfect - would have + past participle
