Reading

Op de toets krijg je twee teksten. In dit hoofdstuk hebben we geoefend met Job advertisements en korte stukjes/artikelen over avonturiers. 

Reading strategy:

TIP: Keep track of the time.

SKIMMEN: look at the title(s), pictures and lay-out. What do you already know about the subject?

Difficult words: Try to understand difficult words by looking at the context. Read the sentences around the word. Does the word look like a word you already know?

SCANNEN: Scan the text looking for a specific word, number or name. Look for capital letters if applicable.

ELZA: Read the first and last line of the paragraph.

Close reading: read word by word, line by line, to find the answer to the question.

Remember!! The answer is always in the text!

Onderwerp en hoofdgedachte

Het onderwerp van een tekst is vaak snel te vinden. Kijk naar de plaatjes de kopjes en de titel, Waar gaat de hele tekst over?

Het belangrijkste wat een schrijver benoemt/zegt over het onderwerp is de hoofdgedachte. Je vindt de hoofdgedachte doormiddel van deze vragen te beantwoorden:

- Wat is het onderwerp?

- Wat is het belangrijkste wat de schrijver over dit onderwerp zegt?

Wat is het onderwerp? Je kinderen bespioneren/in de gaten houden.

Writing

Just like the task!

Bereid een kort afscheidsberichtje voor. Met de volgende punten:

Say where you’re going and when you're leaving.

Give at least two things you’re going to do or see there.

Say when you will be back again.

The message can be as serious, dramatic or happy as you like.

Write a short goodbye message to a friend or family member:

Kijk goed naar de oefentoets! Maar leer niet de volgorde van de woordjes uit je hoofd. Die zullen mogelijk anders zijn op de daadwerkelijke toets. 

Leer ze op meerdere manieren: Hardop lezen, schrijven, stampen, van Nederlands naar Engels en omgekeerd.

Grammar

Going to: Toekomst je gaat iets doen. (Let op zal minder vaak op de toets voorkomen)

Prepositions: Op, Naast, Achter, (Deze komen vaker voor.)

Future: Going to

Je gebruikt to be going to + hele werkwoord als:

- iemand een voorspelling doet en er bewijs is.

- iemand iets van plan is / een beslissing maakt en dat al vaststaat / eerder is afgesproken.

- Frits: "Patrick told me you're going on holiday."

- Marly: "Yes, we are going to invite our dearest friends to come with us."

--> Het is al eerder afgesproken --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

Future: Going to

- He read that the weather is going to be great next week.

- Look at the dissappearing clouds. It is going to be sunny any moment now.

--> Er is wel bewijs (hij las het / ziet het gebeuren) --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

Are they going to join us?

1. No, they are going to stay.
2. Yes, they going to come.
3. Yes, they are going to come.
4. No, they are stay.

When is he going to call you?

1. He is going to call me later.
2. He going to call me tonight.
3. He is going to call me tonight.
4. He is call me tonight.

What is she going to wear?

1. She is going to wear a dress.
2. She going to wear a dress.
3. She is wear a dress.
4. She is going to wear jeans.

Schrijf een correcte zin met het werkwoord "Travel" In de future tense.

The most common prepositions of place

In = in een (gesloten) ruimte of locatie

I am in the classroom. He is in space.

On = op een oppervlakte of openbaar vervoer

My cat Raja eats dinner on the table. Mum is on the roof.

At = op een specifieke plaats of locatie

Today, I am at school. She usually meets her boyfriend at the cinema.

Openbaar vervoer:

in = je moet zitten (taxi)

on = je hoeft niet perse te zitten (bus, plane)
