Slide 6 - Tekstslide

Adjectives & Adverbs
Adjectives say something about a noun.
Adverbs say something about verbs or adjectives/other adverbs.

Example:

- They are counting slowly.       Slowly counting

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

How to Make an Adverb
Add -ly to an adjective to make an adverb.
Example: Slow becomes slowly.

Exceptions!
Some adverbs are irregular, such as good (adj) - well (adv).
Some adverbs are the same as their adjective form: deep - fast
fair - hard - high - late - low - long - right - straight - wrong

Slide 8 - Tekstslide

How to Make an Adverb
More exceptions (:
After to be/to feel/to look/to smell/to sound/to taste: adjective instead of adverb (even though you're modifying a verb!)

Example: This is bad. (not: this is badly).

Reminder: Most of these verbs describe a sense!
