Today we will: 

-Discuss  creative writing 

-Warm up with 6 word story 

-Get writing with small prompt! 

6 word story examples

1. "She fell apart, then danced again"
2. "Printer broke, coffee is gone; Monday"
3. "He planted seeds; she grew dreams"
4. "For sale: baby shoes, never worn"

Create a 6 word story to desribe your weekend or monday!

What is a synonym for dark (emotionally or literally)

What is a synonym for bright? (emotionally or literally)

Plot

What if the sun doesn't rise? 

-Please take 7 minutes to write a story about what would happen if the sun didn't rise. Try to not overthink it and let your first thoughts flow. 

(do this in a word/google document) 

Setting 

-Write with the 5 senses (Sight, smell, taste, hearing, feeling) 

(paste this in your document)

(write about a travel experience!) 

Setting is important!

Descriptive Writing: Focus on adjectives, adverbs, and strong verbs to bring scenes to life. Activities like “show, don’t tell” can help.

Character 

-Establish your character's motivation/story

-Have a conflict 

Warm up your creativity

1. I will show you a picture

2. You will have 15 minutes to come up with your own story behind the photo

3. Think about sensory descriptions, setting, how the person is feeling etc etc. 

4. Most importantly, don't over think it. Just write :)

Find a picture on the internet that correlates with your creative writing story. (post this in your document as well)

-Outline your character/plot and come up with a conflict
