The Butterfly's Life Cycle
Butterflies begin as tiny eggs on leaves. They hatch into caterpillars, eat, and grow. The caterpillar forms a chrysalis, then transforms into a beautiful butterfly.
Frogs: From Pond to Land
Frogs start as eggs in water. Tadpoles hatch, grow legs, and lose their tails. As froglets, they move onto land and become adult frogs.
Plants: Seeds to Flowers
A plant begins as a tiny seed. When it gets water and sunlight, it grows roots and a stem to become a seedling. The mature plant makes flowers and new seeds.
Life Cycles: Compare and Contrast
All life cycles have a beginning, a period of growth, and an adult stage. Each living thing changes as it grows.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Not all insects come from cocoons. Butterflies form chrysalises! - Tadpoles are baby frogs, not fish. - The stages happen in order. - Seeds need the right conditions to grow. - The adult stage is when new eggs or seeds are made.
