Ex. 6: Read the article about sports again. Decide which sport (A–H) would be the most suitable for the students from Ex 3.

Ex. 7 Match the phrases in the article with the meanings in the exercise. 

In groups - Create your own unusual sport

• Where do they play your sport?
• Do you need any equipment to play the sport?
• What makes your sport unusual? 

Write a formal e-mail to apply as a Junior Reporter

1. Write a formal e-mail to apply for a job as a Junior Reporter at a magazine for teens. You are going to write about fierljeppen, an unusual sport in the Netherlands . Write about what fierljeppen is and answer the questions below:

- Where in the Netherlands is fierljeppen populair?

- What do you do when you fierljep?

2. You also write about an unusual sport in another English speaking ( use your SB or look at slide 7 for inspiration).  

Write a formal email to join an unusual sport

Write a formal email expressing that you want to join an unusual sports activity ( see slide 7) at a summer camp where you are going to stay. Write that you already have experience with taking part in an unusual sport in the Netherlands, and explain that you are looking for a new unusual sport in the country where you will be on holiday. 

Example indirect questions:

Yours faithfully / Yours sincerly?

• So when do we use which sign-off?

• With "Sir/Madam" or when you don't know the recipient's name              Yours faithfully, 

• With the recipients name use            Yours sincerely,
