What does " 's " mean?

  • Used to show that a thing belongs to someone or something
  • Singular noun: apostrophe + s  ('s)
  • Plural noun: apostrophe  (')

Example
The cat's couch (one cat)
The cats' couch (two or more cats)

Notice how the number of couches does not matter
