A short article in which the author gives his/her opinion on a current affairs topic. A column is a personal view of the world, written in a somewhat light or humorous style, sometimes even provocative.

Intended audience
Style: direct, informal, contractions are allowed. 
Structure
- Title
- Lead (Introduction)
- Body (points you want to make - one point = one paragraph)
- Conclusion (Punchline)
