Today we're going to read a story about two best friends. But this isn't just a story about friendship—it's about making one of the hardest choices in life."

Setting and Main Characters

Place: A village in India.

Time: Long ago, when village disputes were settled by the village Panchayat (council).

Main characters:

Jumman Sheikh – A respected villager and Algu's best friend.

Algu Chaudhary – Jumman's close friend, known for his honesty and fairness.

Jumman's Aunt (Khala) – An elderly woman who gives her property to Jumman and later seeks justice after being mistreated.
