Creative Writing with Mrs Hogemans

Feedback on the stories handed in yesterday:

++  You are very good at continuing the stories you'd started reading > PoV, setting of time/place > very well done!

++ Your creativity is impressive. The stories were a very good read indeed and made me want to read more!

+- Something to think about/become aware of: make sure you continue your story in the same verb tense. It is odd and confusing to switch.

-- Past Perfect (had + past participle = had + volt. dw) > you use this tense to indicate that something happened BEFORE sth else in time. Example: After he had noticed her standing there, he decided to approach her. 

Process:

• Write a description of a person with the help of the grid in Word.
• Use the last digits of your student number to find 3 Key Elements in the grid.
• Write down your results on top of the page.
• Then start writing.

Creative Prompt:

Write about a person you know or imagine who stood out during the holiday season or inspired you with their New Year’s resolutions. 

Write 250-300 words.

Remember that, when describing people, you mostly write about facts, which are in Present Simple Tense.

Read your story to your classmate, who will give you feedback on:

• Creativity
• Grammar and vocabulary
• Story structure

After that, change roles.
