Exercise 1.1 - Check-in

• What? Fill in the answers for exercise 1, part 1.
  
• How? Connect A,B,C,D with the right number.
  
• Help? Try to do it on your own. If you really don’t know the answer, you can ask another student.
  
• Time? 5 minutes
  
• Outcome: you’ve prepared yourself for the speaking exercise
  
• Done? Read the sentences again and write down words you didn’t know or find hard to speak out loud
  

Exercise 1.2 - Check-in

• What? Read the connected sentences of part 1 out loud. 1 person reads the sentences of the numbers, the other student reads the letters.  
• How? With your neighbor.
  
• Help? The teacher is walking around to help
  
• Time? 2 x 2 minutes. 4 minutes in total.
  
• Outcome: you’ve practiced sentences you can use in a real-life conversation.
  
• Done? Which sentence can be used in 2 situations? Write it down.
  

Exercise 2

• What? Fill in the boxes with the right sentences.
  
• How? Read the text first, then you know what you have to write down. Make up your own sentences. Apply the things you learned in the exercises before.
  
• Help? You can ask a classmate. Whenever you can’t figure it out, the teacher can answer your questions.
  
• Time? 6 minutes
  
• Outcome: You came up with your own sentences and can now use them in a real-life situation.
  
• Done? Try to come up with something to say after these 6 answers. Use your creativity, nothing is wrong here!
  

Exercise 3

• What? Conversation with your neighbor
  
• How? Discuss who is going to play which role. Use 1 minute to prepare in your head. 
• Help? You can ask your classmate if they know what to say if you can’t come up with something. Help each other. If you really don’t know, use the other assignments first. At last, ask your teacher. 
• Time? 8 minutes
  
• Outcome: you can have a simple English conversation with your customers now!
  
• Done? Switch roles or choose another situation.
