I am working right now. - Present continuous

De gerund is een werkwoord dat gebruikt wordt als zelfstandig naamwoord en eindigt altijd op –ing. 
Werkwoord + ing (geen to be erbij)

  •  Smoking is bad for you. - Gerund'
  • You can't help falling in love with him, he is so nice!

Wanneer gerund?
  • Werkwoord als zelfstandig naamwoord.
Smoking is bad for you.
  • Na bepaalde werkwoorden zoals: enjoy, mention, keep etc.
I enjoy reading a good book.
  • Na bepaalde uitdrukkingen zoals: can't stand, can't help, it's no use etc.
I can't help feeling sad.
