History- Racism and Predjudice in 1920s America
1920s America, in many ways, changed the course of history. However, 1920s America was a divided society, where African Americans and immigrants suffered discrimination, racism and prejudice. Most immigrants before 1890 were northern European, e.g UK and Germany. Many were well-educated, skilled workers. They thrived in the USA and held powerful positions in society by the 1920s. They were known as WASPs- White Anglo-Saxon Protestants.
