BUT: You have to use some in questions when offering/requesting: Can I have some soda, please? Would you like some water?

Future predictions, use the whole verb after will/won’t

I’m so nervous about that exam tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll fail and mr. Saunders will be mad at me. I’m sure I will look at the exam and won’t remember anything!

You use ‘to be going to’ when you talk about your intentions or when you make predictions based on what you know or can see:

Dad is going to give up eating chips this year. (intention)

The river is deep here. It isn’t going to be easy to get across. (prediction based on what you know or can see)

Adjectives (Bijvoeglijke naamwoorden)

Says something about a noun (zelfstandig naamwoord):

• The view was wonderful.

• My mother is a good teacher.

Adverbs (bijwoorden) say someting about: 
- a verb (werkwoord) 
        He speaks slowly. 
        She plays the guitar beautifully. 
- an adjective (bijvoegelijk naamwoord) 
       My mother is an extremely good teacher.

- You make an adverb by adding –ly to an adjective.

            slow, slowly

            quick, quickly

Present Perfect

Present Perfect = Something started in the past but it still continues. We talk about actions that happened some time up to now.

He has never played the guitar.
