When you are about to start your presentation, make sure to:

  • throw your chewing gum in the bin...
  • take a deep breath, so you get into the right focus.
  • don't start by saying: 'nou, ehh, this is my presentation', but follow the assignment!

During your presentation:
  • don't focus on your prepared text too much. The assessors don't know what you prepared. Just go with the flow ;)
  • make eye contact now and then, to keep the audience interested
  • time left to kill? Go back to a slide and add some information or summarize everything shortly

Next week it's time for your actual exam (assignments in Magister)
Prepare your speaking exam by creating a presentation (e.g. by using PowerPoint). You can start by creating some structure already.

Prepare your spoken interaction exam by making sure you understand what you want to say from your end & speculating about what your partner might be saying. Practice by having conversations in English.
