State & Federal

State: Schools, hospitals. Federal: Defence, money, major roads.

Looks after towns and cities. E.g., parks, rubbish collection.

Examples of Services

Governments look after hospitals, schools, and safe roads for everyone.

Why Are Services Important?

Services help everyone live safer, healthier, and happier lives together.

Community Services We Use

We use community services like schools to learn, hospitals when we are sick, and roads to travel safely.

How Does the Government Pay?

The government needs money to pay for all these services. This money is called 'revenue'.

What is Tax?

Tax is money that people and businesses pay to the government. The government uses tax to provide services.

How Do We Pay Tax?

We pay tax in different ways. Sometimes it's added to things we buy, or taken from our pay.

Why Do We Pay Tax?

Without taxes, there would be no money for schools, hospitals, or fixing roads.
