Today  Objectives
  • Review colors  (warm-up): I can sign and identify colors being signed
  • Learn and teach your peers objects in the classroom: I can identify and sign common objects in the classroom.
  • Lable the classroom activity: I can identify objects/vocabulary in the classroom and correctly label them in ASL.
  • Unit Objectives: engage in basic conversation on a variety of topics
  • We will be in ASL most of the class today, make sure you are focused!

  • Expand of basic objects in the classroom (what can you do with them) direction signs and commands.
  • Describe objects using the colors (learned prior) and their shape

Note:
  • Think back to the last 2 prior lessons. Think about the 5 parameters of ASL as well as initialized signs when you are learning/teaching the classroom object signs.

Warm-up
Let's Review Colors: 
1. You need a whiteboard and marker. I'll sign, you write. Show me when you are done writing.

2. I will pass out colored paper to a couple of peers. When I point to you hold them up. The class will sign that color, help me see if your classmates are signing them correctly.

Peer Teaching
  1. Each group will receive 2-3  vocabulary words
  2. The cards will show you how to sign the word
  3. Practice signing the vocab words in your group (voices off) 
  4. I will call each group up to teach, no talking you must show the class in ASL. Write the word on the board then sign it.
  5. If you are not presenting you are signing
