6.2 Grammar

You can talk about (un)countable nouns using some/any/much/many/a lot of.

Need: laptop = closed, schrift with your 3 facts about body parts

• Without saying what the body part is, share your fact and we'll guess

1, 2, 3 = countables

- singular nouns = 1 thing or apple

- plural nouns = 2+ things or apples  

= carrot, dog, bottle

- nouns that end in ch, x, s, or s sounds, add -es

= box, watch, bus

- nouns that end in y sometimes change to -ies

= family, city, fairy

- some nouns are different and weird

= child, woman, mouse, foot, tooth

• usually + -s

• carrots, dogs, bottles

• boxes, watches, buses

• families, cities, fairies
  

• children, women, mice, feet, teeth

You use any in questions and negative (with not) sentences.

2.2 some and any

Write a question (?) using ANY about 'milk'

Write a sentence (+) using SOME & 'pizza'

You use (too/not) much when talking about uncountable nouns (90% time in - and ?).

There isn't much coffee left.

Is that too much rice?

We need a lot of cheese to make this dish.

You use (too/not) many when talking about countable nouns (+, -, ?).

There are many pies in the bakery.

Not many kids think...

Are there a lot of leftovers?
