Aims
In this lesson series we are going to work on:
- your confidence in speaking
- your fluency
- first start on preparation for your presentation

- Other people need to be able to understand you
- Saying the right words
- Pronunciation
- Grammar
Tip 1:
Use chunks
When you don't know a word/ can't remember what it's called, describe it!
- what does it look like (it looks like a(n) . . .
- what does it belong to (it's a type of . . . animal/ kitchen appliance)
- what is it used for (you can use it to/ for . . .)
- where can you find it (it can can be found in/by/ near . . . )
Chunks
Can be used to describe weird and unusual things or everyday things that you don't know the name of

You can find it in/ near . . .
Tip 2:
"What is it called again?"
When stuck for what to say . . . ask questions
Tip 3:
Don't EVER switch to Dutch!
Let's speak:
You will work in pairs
You will choose one (1) topic and talk about it for 2 minutes together
Afterwards you will pick a new topic
After a few rounds you will switch speaking partners
Timer and instructions will be on the board
