prefixes
You can put a prefix before a word. This prefix changes the meaning of the word. For example you can make the meaning negative: fair - unfair

making negative words
some prefixes give the meaning not when they are put before a word:
il-              dis-
ir-              im-
in-             mis-
un-
  1. words starting with l- often get il- : logical / illogical
  2. words starting with r often get ir-: irresponsible
  3. words starting with m and p often get im-: impossible , immature

You can turn other parts of speech into nouns by adding a suffix after the word.

-ion
- ness
- ship
-ity
-ism
-ence
-ment
-al
but:
true - truth
succeed - success
die - death
high - height

adjectives: word + suffix
You can turn another part of speech into an adjective by adding the suffix:
- ible
- able
-y
-al
-ive
-ful
-less
-ous
windy             endless
attractive      accidental
hopeful         valuable
hopeless       accessible
dangerous

adverbs
Adverbs are usually formed by adding -ly to an adjective. There are some spelling rules though!
complete - completely
temporary- temporarily
real - really
reasonable - reasonably
lucky - luckily
But:
true - truly
shy - shyly
adjectives endig in -ic usualy add -ally

un-  reverse an action:  undo - unlock
dis- not: discourage - disapprove
re - again:  renew - redo - rebuild -repay - relock
