  • Will/shall + infinitive;
  • Promises;
  • Predictions (without evidence);
  • Spontaneous decisions.

Future tense
Examples will/shall:
  • I will tell you tomorrow!
  • I think it will rain tomorrow.
  • Yes, we will go to the concert with you tonight!

  • To be + going to + infinitive;
  • Predictions (with proof);
  • Someone is planning to do something.

Examples to be + going to + infinitive:
  • I am going to go on holiday in summer.
  • We are going to graduate this year, look at our grades!
  • He is going to leave tomorrow morning.

  • Can: present tense, ability or permission
  • Example: 
  • I can speak three languages.
  • You cannot stay for the night.
  • He can jump really high.

  • He could throw farther than anyone in our class.
  • You couldn't borrow a pen.
  • We could skip this class.
