The past perfect : talking about the first of two actions in the past

Use : HAD + PAST PARTICIPLE

Past perfect------------past----------now-------------future

So it happened before something else in the past!!!!!

Is used for talking about the first of two actions in the past

past perfect continuous 2

1. Om duidelijk te laten zien dat een actie voor een andere actie in het verleden plaatsvond
2. Om aan te geven dat het een tijdje bezig was/duurde die actie in het verleden
3. Om het over een actie te hebben in het verleden die bezig was maar onderbroken werd door een andere actie

The present passive of chapter 4

Sorry, but my collegues told me we had to do the passive, so here is the explanation:

The present passive is used to describe actions and processes.

We use;

To be + past participle ( = voltooid deelw, 3e rij)

The present passive ( 2)

To emphasise and focus on the action more than on the person who did it.

The present Passive:  examples

Active : Americans buy a lot of jeans

Passive : A lot of jeans are bought by americans

Active : America grows a lot of cotton

Passive : A lot of cotton is grown in America

De vertaling : Wordt gekocht en wordt verbouwd!
