Present Perfect: When to use?

For an action in the past, with a result now.

Example:

He has broken his leg, so he can't come on our trip.

I haven't read your email, so I don't know where we're supposed to meet. 

Present Perfect: When to use?

When we talk about a time from the past until now.

Example:

I have never visited Disneyland.

I have seen that film before.

Present Perfect: When to use?

Something happened in the past, but is still going on.

Example:

I have lived here for 4 years.

I have worked here since 2020.

Present Perfect: When to use?

Something happened a short time ago.

Example:

Look, Tim has just baked us muffins!

I have just checked my mail.

Present Perfect: How to use?

have/has + past participle (voltooid deelwoord) (+ -ed)

Example: I have worked here for years.

have/has + past participle (voltooid deelwoord) (irregular verbs)

Example: He has seen that film before.

Present Perfect: How to use?

Negative (-): have/has + not + past participle

I have not worked here for years.

Question (?): Have/Has + subject + past participle
