What do you know about hormones?

Hormones
Chemical messengers that are secreted by hormone glands and transported with the blood. Therefore each hormone ends up everywhere in the body.
They connect to receptors on the cells of the target organ(s) and trigger a response.

Produce and secrete the hormone. Can be far from target organ. They always produce small amounts.
Blood travels throughout the entire body, therefore the hormones will end up everywhere.
The cells of the target organ have receptors the hormones can bind to and trigger a response

Mainly liver and muscle cells to stimulate the uptake of glucose
