Word order
Describing people/experiences
Use adjectives (bij nmw) and start with the subject (onderwerp)
Ms. Wildeman looks young but she has some gray hairs.
The concert I went to lasted for so long but it was exciting and fun.

Describing places
Put the time and place at the end of the sentence and use adjectives.
My friends are in a noisy area so I think they're in the music room.

Get a piece of paper and a pencil/pen and form pairs.

  • Normal adjective: +er / +est
  • Smart – smarter (than) – (the) smartest   Nice – nicer (than) – (the) nicest

  • Adjective ending with a y: +ier / +iest
  • Funny – funnier (than) – (the) funniest

  • Adjective with two syllables or more: more / most
  • Important - more important (than) - (the) most important

  • Irregular adjective: no rules
  • Good - better (than) - (the) best / bad - worse (than) - (the) worst
