Amsterdam

In 1588, it was decided to establish the Republic of the Seven United Provinces.
In 1648 Spain finally regocnised The Republic with the Treaty of Munster
--> The Golden Age.

Holland and Zeeland brought cheap grain from the Baltic Sea area.
They exported milk, cheese and butter as well as craft products such as textiles.
