Introductie

Part of LessonUp's Summer Safety Series. In this session, pupils are introduced to the theme of Summer Safety and get to explore some of the topics across the unit.

Instructies

We have designed our Summer Safety lessons so that teachers can pick up and teach a topic to their class with confidence.

We have chosen to use a balance of interactive tools and 'unplugged' creative activities.

Lessons can be taught directly from the LessonUp slides but work best when children have access to the pupil app
Lessonup.app

If you have any questions or want to know more, please do get in touch. We'd love to show you how LessonUp can make 'Every Class Better Than The Last'

In this lesson, we will:

  • Talk about how our
     holiday is different to
     the school term.

  • Look at how we can
     play safe in the holidays

Explain the objective to the students and make sure they understand what they will learn by the end of the lesson.

What are the differences between term time and holiday time?

What are the differences

between term time

This activity will enable you to gather some ideas about the ways in which your class spend their holiday time.

You may wish to adapt the question to suit your class context as this may be a difficult subject for some in your class.

Further information on adding mindmaps to your LessonUp lesson can be found here.

Summer is an exciting time

If we think about how to keep ourselves safe, we can make sure we can enjoy our holidays

Ask the students why they think summer safety is important and discuss their answers as a class.

Let's Look at Playing Safely in the Holidays.

What can you do to make sure you play safe?

Ask the students what they can do to play safe this summer:

wear suitable clothing

tell your parents where you are going

always look out for rubbish/ broken glass

never talk to strangers

drink plenty of water

How can we

play safely in the summer?
