What do you think what stress is?

Explanation stress

Stress is how your body and mind react to pressure. When you feel stress, your body releases hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones help you react fast. This can be helpful during danger or deadlines. Stress becomes a problem when it lasts a long time and you do net get enough rest. Long lasting stress can reduce concentration, disturb sleep and effect mood.

Exercise

  1. Choose a number from 1 till 5. 1 means no stress, 5 means a lot of stress.

  2. Write the number down but hold it for yourself.

  3. If you want, you can share your number and tell me why you choose this number and what will help you at this moment.


Stress changes from day to day.

Everyone experiences stress differently.

Be honest with yourself and respectful to others.

Stress does not mean weakness, it is a normal reaction to pressure.

Coping with stress

Simple habits reduce stress. Examples are enough sleep. physical activity, talking to others and breathing exercises. Planning tasks and taking breaks also lower stress levels.

Breathing exercise

  1. Breathe in for four seconds

  2. Hold for two seconds

  3. Breathe out for six seconds
