Vocabulary test & Listening test

Note down in your diary:

- Vocabulary Test about is on Monday the 22nd of January.

- Listening Test will be on Monday the 29th of January.

Vocabulary test

You have to study 2 word lists for this test:

1. "Word list Spare Time & Having fun" &
2. "Word list Spending Money"

- You have to know the words from Dutch to English and from English to Dutch.
- You have to know how to spell the words.
- You should be able to use the words in sentences and gap exercises.
- You should be able to link the right word to the right description, etc.

You don't have to know all the descriptions or example sentences by heart, but you should definitely read them through a couple of times!

2. "Word list Spending Money"

- Have been handed out to you on paper;

- Can be found in Som at the date of the test;

- Can be found in Som at the "studiewijzers".

Listening test

We will practise your listening skills during the coming weeks. 

You cannot really study for a listening test, but practising does help!

Also, knowing the words from the word list "Spending Money" does come in handy for your listening test! 

So, if you're smart, you might want to repeat these before the listening test.

Present Continuous

'I can describe what people are doing'

= Ik kan beschrijven wat mensen aan het doen zijn.

The name of the tense we use to do that is the Present Continuous.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

Present contiNUous: gebeurt NU 

Example: They are working now.

How do you make this tense?

1. you use the verb to be: am, is / are 

2. infinitive + ING

 

I am chilling right now...

How to make present continuous affirmative

Hoe maken we bevestigende zinnen?

I + am + infinitive + ing

I am just doing my job.

you/we/they + are + infinitive + ing

We are eating soup at the moment. 

he/she/it + is + infinitive + ing

He is singing right now.
