Past Simple - Irregular verbs
Some verbs in English are irregular, this means that in the past tense they don't get '-ed' at the end, but have their own form:

To write -> wrote; I wrote her a letter last week
to go -> went; He went to Italy last year
to make -> made: They made a very nice meal two days ago

There are no rules for the irregular verbs, you just have to learn them by heart

What are Conditional Sentences?
Conditional sentences are statements that explain a condition and its result. They use 'if' to introduce the condition and the result follows the 'then'.

e.g: If Macbeth had not killed the king, he would be happy now.

The Third Conditional
  • After thoughts that didn't happen in the past.
  • if + past perfect, would have + past tense

  • If I had studied for my exams, I would have passed them.
  • I would have bought that house if I had won the lottery.

It’s made with:
had + past participle (the 3rd verb form)
Examples:
I had eaten before my friend arrived.
She had finished her homework when her mom called.
