How to make the perfect solder joint:
  • All parts must be clean and free from dirt and grease.
  • "Tin" the iron tip with a small amount of solder.Do this immediately,with new tips being used for the first time.
  • Clean the tip of the hot soldering iron on a damp sponge.
  • Heat all the parts of the joint with the iron for under a second or so.
  • Continue heating,then apply sufficient solder only,to form an adequate joint.
  • Remove and return the iron safely to its stand.

  • It only takes 2 or 3 seconds at most, to solder the average joint.
  • Do not move parts untill the solder has cooled.

Making of the circuit
1. Glue the LED’s, with the flat edge facing left, in the pre-drilled 5mm holes.
2. With an end cutter, cut of each colour 5 ends of wire 150mm long. Strip both ends and tin them.
3. On one end of each of these ten wires, solder a connector.

In the playing board there should be a hole round 4 mm. on two sides of the board. One for each player. Through this hole the cables with the connectors fit and can be soldered to wall pin b and d.
Close to this hole nine pieces of a conductive material should be going through the board. In the example nails were used.
Close to this whole mount two wall pins. Tin the top side of these wall pins.
Solder a resistor 100 ohm on each pair of these wall pins.

4. In the playing board, there should be a hole round 4 mm on two sides of the board(One for each player). Through this hole,the cables with the connectors fit and can be soldered to wall pin b and d.

5. Close to this hole nine pieces of a conductive material should be going through the board. In the example nails were used.
 
6. Close to this whole mount two wall pins. Tin the top side of these wall pins.
 
7. Solder a resistor 100 ohm on each pair of these wallpins.

8. Solder the red cable of the battery holder on to wall pin a. Solder a cable between wall pin a and c.
 
9. Bend the minus pole of the leds forward and connect them with solder. Solder the black cable of the battery holder to the last one.
 
10. Cut 9 pieces of cable and connect the conductive material of your choice on the right side to the right leg of each led and the ones on the left side to the left leg of each led. All 3 legs of 9 LED’s are now connected. Make sure though that the legs are connected to one item only and make no contact with another leg or cable.

Test: The LED’s should light up in the same colour using the connectors on one side and in a contrasting colour using the connectors on the other side.
