Comparative

I am bigger than you.

This house is larger than mine.

Je kan aan het woordje than herkennen dat het om de comparative gaat

Comparative 

Between two persons or -things

Add -er -> most one-syllable adjectives 

Kayleigh is louder than Senne.

Add 'more' or 'less' -> adjectives three or more syllables 

Kayleigh is more studious than Senne.

- Words ending on -y get +ier: silly > sillier  funny > funnier

Superlative

My grandfather is the oldest in the family.

The Mt. Everest is the highest mountain.

Neptune is the coldest planet in our solar system.

Burj Khalifa is het hoogste gebouw op de wereld.

Spelling regels

De spelling van het bijvoeglijknaamwoord verandert als:

- Het eindigt op -e. Dan voeg je alleen +r of +st toe

- Het eindigt op één korte klinker (a,e,o,i,u) + één medeklinker dan verdubbel je de medeklinker +er of +est

- Het eindigt op een medeklinker +y dan wordt het-ier of -iest
