Listening strategies

How are they trying to throw you off

• By using accents 
  
• By speaking very fast
• By using synonyms 
• By talking around the answer
• By giving you more information than you actually need

Strategies you can use

1. Don't read the question. First, listen to the recording to get an idea of what it is about. Then the second time, you do read the question and then listen for a specific answer.
2. Only read the question and cover the answers up. Listen to the recording and try to listen for the answer. The second time you hear the recording, do take a look at the answers and check if you got the correct one. 

Strategies you can use

1. Read the question and underline important keywords. 
   
2. Try to predict the answer. Underline keywords and think about which answer is most likely to be correct.
