Why is it important to learn about Islam?

• About 5% of Dutch inhabitants identifies as Muslim 
• There are a lot of prejudices and misunderstandings about Islam 
• In order to live together well, it is important to (want to) understand each other 
• By learning more about each other we also learn more about the world and our own position in it

Assignment: Interview a Muslim

• Find a Muslim to interview about their religion
• Come up with good interview questions
• Have the interview (tip: ask if you can record the conversation so that you can listen to it again later) 
• Write a report about the interview

Make up interview questions

• Always ask questions from your own interest. Be curious! 
• Be respectful and try to avoid assumptions 
• Ask further! Think of several questions about the same subject and really try to find out more 
• Don't just ask for facts, also ask about experience!

Come up with at least 10 interview questions and write these down (think about the tips and guidelines)
