The situation
You work as a book promoter for an important publishing house. Your task is to convince the jury (me and some of my peers) to award your book the HVC Booker Prize awards

* 2 lessons of reading and one of practice/information

How?
Step 1: Select a book of your choosing (either hardcopy of e-reader)
Step 2: Form groups of 3
Step 3: Come to agreement on work rules
Step 4: Read the story
Step 5: Compile a glossary/dictionary
Step 6: Have a weekly 10 minute chat with teacher about your book  (thoughts, feelings, etc)
Step 7:  Write a review and create a front and back cover for your story.

step 1: Either from pre-selected books or your own. Needs to be at appropriate level so consult me. And you need to read the same book with 2 other people. 
Review:
  • English at B1 or higher, 1 page (font size 12)
  • Why should we read it - 3 reasons + examples
  • Everyone writes at least one paragraph (names included

  • Lure people into reading - visually attractive
  • Gives a good idea about what people are going to read.

What is a book review?
  1. A review will offer a concise plot summary of the book.
  2. A book review will offer an evaluation of the work.
  3. A book review will offer a recommendation for the audience. 
  4. Not too long (max 1500 - sweet spot 1000)
