  • Title tells you what the map is about
  • North arrow shows which direction on the map is north
  • Compass rose

Horizontal lines on a globe or map, used to find a location on the Earth.
The '0 degrees' parallel line which is exactly halfway between the North Pole and the South Pole.
Determines if a location is in the Northern or Southern hemisphere.

Finding a location with coordinates
  •  The degrees of longitude and latitude together show the coordinates
  1. Latitude: North or South
  2. Longitude: East or West
  • Lomé: 6°N and 1°E
