To revisit all 5 criteria relevant to support your knowledge on this element. 

10.1 - The basic principles of laws, regulations and code of practice than underpin equality, diversity and inclusion. 

10.2 - Understand the importance of legal requirements and the rights of young people. 

10.3 - Understand the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion.. 

10.4 - Understand the consequences of labeling children and young people. 

10.5 - Explore possible barriers to children's and young peoples participation and how this can become overcome. 

Group Task 

On your tables work together to create 3 lists to identify at least 5 key pieces of information for each of the following legislations. 

 UNCRC 1989 

SEND Code of Practice 2015 

 Equality Act 2010

Why is it important to understand Equality And Diversity?

Have a good understanding of the different policies in place to ensure reasonable adjustments, respect and inclusion are considered. 

Complying with legislations is a legal requirement for all, it is unethical to discriminate or prevent equal opportunities for all.
