Phase 1 (days 1-5)
Uterus lining lets go of the uterus and comes out through the vagina with blood.
The ''nest was not used and is removed by the woman's body to replace it.
Phase 2 ( days 6-12)
Uterus is building a net layer of mucus (lining) the ovaries start ripening and getting ready to release a new ovum
Phase 3 ( days 13-15)
A new ova is released and set to move down the oviducts
Phase 4 ( days 16-28)
The ova move down the oviduct towards the uterus ready for fertilization. the lining of the uterus continues to grow and thicken to form the ''nest'' for the fertilized ova.

Zygote copies = embryo

IVF in vitro fertilisation:
Egg cells are removed from the woman.
Spermcells are injected under a microscope.
The zygote is left to divide into an embryo.
The embryo's are placed back into the uterus.

Miscarriage / Abortion:
With a miscarriage the pregnancy is ended because the baby dies or the woman's body can't handle the pregnancy.
With an abortion the woman chooses to end the pregnancy. (12 weeks or 20 weeks).
