Egypt: A gift from the Nile?  

1. Water for agriculture/irrigation.

The Nile
  • Every year the Nile flooded. It left silt.
  • This made the ground extremely fertile. 
  • Because of this, farmers would move close to the Nile. 
  • But the flooding was only one season a year. Can you think of a solution for the rest of the year?
