Something that started in the past/earlier, up till now with focus on result:

Signal words: For, Since, Yet, Already, Up to now

Completed actions in the past or habbits:
I saw it yesterday.
Short past actions that follow one another (e.g. a story):
The movie received such bad reviews that it closed within a week after opening.
Usually with clear time indication in the past (e.g. yesterday)

Actions going on in the past (focus on duration):
