National Smile Power Day!

Monday 15th June 2026

What do you already know about taking care of your teeth?

Our Assembly

We are going to discuss why brushing your teeth is important, how to brush correctly, and what can happen if you don’t take care of your teeth.

Why Do We Need to Brush Our Teeth?

Brushing removes food, plaque and bacteria. It keeps your mouth healthy, your breath fresh, and your smile bright.

What Happens If We Don’t Brush?

Bad breath, yellow teeth and a furry feeling can happen very quickly if you don’t brush.

Plaque can cause cavities and gum disease. You could even lose teeth as you get older.

Short-Term Effects

Long-Term Effects

What is Tooth Decay?

Tooth decay is damage caused by plaque breaking down sugars into acid. This acid erodes your teeth, leading to cavities.

How Should You Brush Properly?

Brush for 2 minutes, twice a day. Use small circular motions and reach all surfaces of each tooth.

Other Good Dental Habits

Floss daily, avoid too many sugary snacks and drinks, and visit your dentist regularly.

Let’s Reflect: Why Care for Our Teeth?
