What is the Chlor-Alkali Process?

The chlor-alkali process is the industrial electrolysis of brine (sodium chloride solution) to produce chlorine, hydrogen, and sodium hydroxide.

Main Products of the Process

Electrolysis of brine produces three important chemicals: chlorine gas (Cl2), hydrogen gas (H2), and sodium hydroxide (NaOH).
