Your Client

  • ‘Loughview Community Fitness’ is a small gym and exercise provider in the small village of Loughmacrory. The business is run by the owner Paula Donaghy and her team of independent trainers, Barry, and Christine.

  • The gym runs a number of exercise classes throughout the day and personal one-to-one training sessions

  • Paula has a lot of work to do in the gym and has very little time to market and advertise the business correctly, therefore the client base has stayed the same for a while now

  • The building is owned by the Loughmacrory Community Association and is rented out to Dan Fox of “Shark Tank”. Paula and the team therefore pay rent monthly to Dan to use the facilities

  • Paula attended your presentation to the chamber of commerce and is now interested in running a social media campaign to try and help advertise Loughview Community Fitness and expand their customer base

Business Requirements for Social Media

8

  • Businesses need to consider the purpose of their use of social media, what does the business want to get out of it?

  • For example do they want it for

    • the direct selling of products/services

    • To create an image/brand

    • Customer service

    • Drive traffic to the company website

    • Or a combination of all these

    • Develop an online audience

  • Without a clear idea of what the business requirements are the social media campaign will have no clear focus and as a result will not be successful.

  • Initially it is better to have 1/2 simple and clearly defined requirements rather than trying to do a range of different things.

  • Once the main requirement is has been decided the business also need to consider who its target audience is and what social media websites are best suited to the businesses products or services and what the aims of the business are.
