Daily Routines with Music and AI

Open the lesson by pointing to familiar routines students already know from everyday life. Keep the focus on simple English for actions done every day.

Lesson Objective

I can name common daily routines and understand them in a simple song.

Deze slide heeft geen instructies

Which daily routine words do you already know?

Use the word cloud to activate prior knowledge. Expect words such as wake up, breakfast, school, study, sleep, brush teeth. Briefly praise familiar words and model any useful new phrase in full.

Daily Routines Around the Day

Some actions happen again and again every day.

  • morning: wake up, brush my teeth, have breakfast

  • daytime: go to school, study

  • night: read, go to bed

A daily routine is the usual order of these actions.

This slide replaces the interactive warm-up with content only. Model 2–3 example sentences aloud, such as 'I wake up in the morning.'

The Song: My Daily Routine

The lesson uses a simple song to show daily routines in context.

It follows one day in order:

wake up → brush my teeth → have breakfast → go to school → study → do homework → read → sleep

Songs help students notice words, rhythm and repeated sentence patterns.

You can mention that the song is AI-generated, but keep the language focus on the routine words and repeated structures.

Song Lyrics: Morning

Verse 1

I wake up in the morning,

I brush my teeth and smile.

I have my breakfast,

Then I walk for a while.

This part teaches common morning routines.

Read the lines with clear stress on the target phrases: wake up, brush my teeth, have breakfast.

Song Lyrics: School and Night

Verse 2 and ending

I go to school and study.

I talk with all my friends.

I do my homework,

And my school day ends.

At night, I read a book and sleep.

This completes the routine

from morning to night.

Highlight that the song moves in time order. This supports comprehension of sequence as well as vocabulary.

Which routine happens first in the song?

A

go to school

B

wake up

C

read a book

D

do homework

This checks understanding of sequence from slides 3–5. The distractors all appear in the song but not at the start.

Complete the song routine

In the song, I wake up in the morning and brush my teeth. Later, I go to school and study. At night, I read and sleep.

wake up
brush my teeth
study
sleep
have breakfast
do homework
smile
friends

All answers come directly from the song and the surrounding content slides. Encourage students to notice the order from morning to night.

Wake up

  • Wake up = stop sleeping

  • It usually happens in the morning

  • Example: I wake up at 7 o'clock.

Brush my teeth

  • Brush my teeth = clean my teeth

  • We often do this in the morning and at night

  • Example: I brush my teeth before school.

Students may say only 'brush teeth'. Model the full phrase 'I brush my teeth'.

Have breakfast

  • Have breakfast = eat in the morning

  • Breakfast is the first meal of the day

  • Example: I have breakfast at home.

Study

  • Study = learn at school or at home

  • You can study English, maths or science

  • Example: I study after school.

Go to bed

  • Go to bed = get ready to sleep

  • It usually happens at night

  • Example: I go to bed at 10 o'clock.

Clarify the difference between 'go to bed' and 'sleep'. One is the action before sleeping; the other is the state.

Pronunciation Patterns

These routine phrases are short and easy to repeat:

  • wake up

  • brush my teeth

  • have breakfast

  • study

  • go to bed

The pattern I + verb phrase helps us make simple sentences.

Model chunking rather than single-word pronunciation. For example: 'I wake up', 'I have breakfast'.

Making Simple Routine Sentences

We use the present simple for routines because they happen regularly.

  • I wake up at 7 o'clock.

  • I have breakfast in the morning.

  • I study at school.

  • I go to bed at night.

These sentences tell what we usually do.

Keep grammar light. The goal is recognition and simple production, not a full grammar explanation.

Which phrase means clean my teeth?

A

go to bed

B

have breakfast

C

brush my teeth

D

wake up

This checks vocabulary meaning from the image-and-definition slides.

Complete the routine sentences

I wake up at 7 o'clock. In the morning, I have breakfast. After school, I study. At night, I go to bed.

wake up
have breakfast
study
go to bed
brush my teeth
read a book
go to school
sleep

This anchors the pattern I + verb phrase from slides 11–12 and keeps the time clues clear for each blank.

Write one sentence about your routine.

Expected elements: one short present simple sentence about a real routine, using the pattern I + verb phrase, for example 'I wake up at 7 o'clock' or 'I study after school'. Discuss correct word order and routine vocabulary.

Technology in This Lesson

CALL

E-learning means learning through digital tools and online resources.

  • students access lesson content digitally

  • they hear English in audio form

  • they practise words in an online environment

Computer-Assisted Language Learning means using technology to support language learning.

  • an AI-generated song

  • a digital lesson platform

  • listening and vocabulary practice

E-learning

Keep this connected to English learning, not computer science. The key idea is that technology supports language input and practice.

Blended Learning

Blended learning combines classroom teaching with digital learning.

  • teacher and classmates: explain, sing, repeat, speak

  • technology: play the song, show images, support practice

Teacher + classroom + technology work together.

Stress that the lesson is not only online and not only face-to-face. It uses both in a planned way.

From Words to Meaning

The song helps students connect:

  • word: wake up

  • action: getting up in the morning

  • sentence: I wake up in the morning

This is useful because students hear, read and say the same language in different ways.

This slide ties the music and technology approach back to language comprehension and production.

What does blended learning use?

A

only homework

B

only music

C

classroom and tech

D

paper and pens

Based on slides 13–15. Students should recognise that blended learning combines face-to-face teaching and digital learning.

Complete the technology ideas

CALL uses technology to support language learning. E-learning uses digital tools and online resources. Blended learning combines classroom teaching with digital learning.

technology
tools
digital learning
songs
friends
pronunciation
bedtime

The blanks are the key terms and ideas taught on slides 13–15. Use this to reinforce meaning without overloading students with theory.
