Een aantal tips om je te helpen in een gesprek.

Fillers

• Om te reageren op een vraag of te beginnen met je antwoord kun je 'fillers' gebruiken. 
• Deze hebben als doel om iets toe te lichten, uit te leggen, en je mening te uiten.

Asking for clarification

• Als je niet begrijpt wat iemand bedoelt of meer tijd nodig hebt om te antwoorden, gebruik je verhelderingsvragen.

Reacting

• Het is belangrijk om je gesprekspartner te laten merken dat je luistert. Rechts zie je een aantal voorbeelden hiervan.
• Gebruik samenvatten, herhalen en verhelderen.

Speaking activity

One minute sales pitch!
Try to sell the group something in your bag.
Describe the object as well as possible and try to think of different things you can do with it.
It does not have to be something that the thing actually does.
E.G A glass can be used as a hat holder. 
You get 5 minutes to think of something the thing does.

Oefenen met spreekvaardigheid

• Je gaat zo een aantal oefeningen doen (in twee- of drietallen) waarbij je oefent met spreekvaardigheid.
• Je krijgt een aantal kaartjes te zien waarover je een minuut moet praten. 
• Als de bel gaat, draai je de rollen om.

Speaking activity

A debate!

The group is going to be split in 2.
One has an opposing viewpoint and the other group agrees.
Think of different arguments and present them, the other group has to do the same.
Teams argue for or against a motion.
