Ought to + infinitief wordt gebruikt om:
- Jezelf en anderen advies te geven
- Te vertellen dat iets gedaan zou moeten worden
- Te vragen naar eigen verplichtingen

Vragende zinnen zijn erg formeel

Let op! Have to ontkennend
Have/has to = moeten
Don't/doesn't have to = niet hoeven

Je geeft dan aan dat er geen verplichting is.
