Originally Four corners area is Navajo territory called Navajo Nation.
A Native American tribe.
They still have their own language and their own traditions.

The Navajo Tribe
The Navajo are the people who are native of the Four Corners region. The Navajo live in a very large reservation on their traditional territory: Navajo Nation. This is land that belongs to them and is under their control. The Navajo Nation has its own government, laws, police, and services, just like a small country. However, they are also US citizens and must obey American law. The Navajo people still honor a lot of their old traditions.
